BACK IN SHAPE???
I bet you've all gained interest in this blog after reading the title? It would be my pleasure to tell you all about it. The things that I did with my life and the life-changing events that made me for the better. So of course I would love to tell more to you, my audience.

I'm sure that each of you would have different understandings of the term "back in shape", but for me it is a journey of a woman that used to be slim and petite, who then started to become wider and wider because she gave birth to 2 boys and adopted a wrong lifestyle. She is comfortable with her look back then, but she made a decision to alter her lifestyle (and her look!) once she felt that the current one was affecting her health in a negative way.

Was it hard? Absolutely!

But the story won't be as interesting without a background story & some key learning here and there now, would it? Enjoy reading my blog...

AND THE STORY BEGIN.....
I was already overweight before the pandemic began but during the pandemic I became heavier than I once was. It was triggered by the advances that technology has made, I became too lazy to move my body. Not to mention the rules to limit our movement outside of the house. Did I exercise, you ask? Of course not! Why would I? I was already busy enough with my family and my work. I didn't have the time to get a little exercise in and I've always reassured myself that I was completely fine without it.

I enjoyed the merits of online shopping, where I don't even have to get out of bed! I can order online food via GoJek/Grab; fast foods & nasty carbo that looked and tasted like heaven. As time went by, I have managed to gain 5 kg within 1 year into the pandemic. Did I notice? Yes! But who cares!?

Who cares, indeed? That is, until I faced several health problems. Only then did I realize that I needed help. The fact is, my lifestyle was quite unhealthy, I need to fix it as soon as possible. In which I will face the premature aging sooner than I thought.

Let me give you a bit of knowledge..
Our body comprises of one system that works together in unison so that we'll have the ability of movement, especially our locomotive organ (the skeleton, muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, cartilage and other connective tissue) are in a healthy state. So on the off chance that our body ever gets overweight, it'll give a heavy burden for those locomotive organs, who has to work extra hard, which will make the body tired and exhausted more easily. It disturbs your daily activities and will hinder your movements. If you don't pay attention, it'll absolutely impact your health and you won't be able to be as independent in your daily life and will require plenty of assistance when you've reached old age.

Based on a study from Japan about Locomotive Syndrome (a condition of reduced mobility due to the impairment of your locomotive organs), we can do a check-up to see if we are facing this issue or not with this simple guidance below :

Enjoy the picture?
If you've got at least 3 - 4 signs from those pictures, then it means that you have the symptoms of an early stage locomotive syndrome. Now, let's talk about my signs.

Hmmm...
It seems that I've had 3 signs that impacted my quality of life : difficulty doing moderate housework, difficulty in carrying 2 kg of groceries, and I can only walk non-stop for less than 15 minutes.

To be honest, I've noticed these signs since 2 years ago but I didn't do anything about it until I felt pain in my knees, my back, and also a gland disorder that always hurt every time I tried to move my hand. See! Health issues will trigger you to find a solution, especially if you need to go to a doctor for it, something that I have tried to avoid doing during the pandemic. Not all solutions come from consuming medicines, right? Perhaps you have to change your life in order to increase the quality of it.

The main cause from all those pains --> OVERWEIGHT
Truly, dieting is the most obvious solution. Unfortunately, I have been facing difficulties because I've tried several diet but instead of losing weight, I ended up gaining more due to me being unable to commit with it.

So, I tried to find the ultimate solution that can't made me go back to my previous habit. I hang out with 2 beautiful ladies that shared their secret recipe for a healthy life (diet product, healthy food & exercise). They acted like cheerleaders that supported me and always made sure to remind me that I'm not alone in this. At first, I was shocked with the list of food that I'm forbidden to eat due to the fat loss program, so I need to avoid all of the food that I like to eat. I was so stressed during the first few weeks, but then I decided that I had to draw a line for myself. It's okay to eat the food that are forbidden as long as I consume it in small quantities once a week, just as a small treat to keep me going. It's better to relax and enjoy the ride then be stressed out the whole way, am I right?

As a replacement, I do routine exercises everyday (outdoor walk 30-45 minutes) and yoga 2-3 times a week. It was hard because I couldn't walk for more than 15 minutes without stopping once in a while, but this product work as a catalyst that help burn the fat faster, and soon I felt my steps getting lighter, which means I can walk faster and longer. I ate lesser but I can still enjoy 1 portion of a meal for lunch. I have made improvements on my eating habit and I started to enjoy consuming food with less sugar and less carbo.

On top of that, I also experimented with healthy foods. I've made modifications of the foods that'll make me enthusiastic to consume it. Several example of the breakfast menu are :
1. Omelette White Egg Veggie
2. Steamed White Egg with Tofu & Veggie
3. Grilled Wheat Bread with stir fry mushroom/ fresh chopped tomatoes with basil
4. Vietnam Roll (Veggie Style/ Add prawn)
5. White Egg Bomb Soup (add beef/seaweed/ others)
6. Grilled potatoes with herbs

After 3 months, I successfully loss 10 kg. I didn't experience any rebound because I kept continuing my healthy eating habit. I also added some exercise programs that educated me about how a woman body is different from each other. Many woman do the same type of exercises and employed the same eating habit, but they keep gaining weight. Why does this happen ?

You see, your body keeps your eating & exercise habit in your memory. If you eat the same portion everyday, then your body will learn the pattern & keep using the same amount of resources everyday. You will experience weight loss but not too significant. For it to be more effective, I learn how to manipulate the metabolism of my body with :

1. Carb Cycle
Not eating the same portion of carbs everyday. Make the pattern from less to normal portion and back to less carbs portion.

2. Functional training for about 15 minutes
You only need to do it for 4 days a week and make sure that it's on the day that you eat normal carbs.

3. Intermittent fasting
To control your appetite, this will help to burn the fat and also prevent you from eating too much. It is very effective to combine with an exercise and other diet. Do not do the same pattern everyday, you need to modify it, like skip breakfast then the following day skip lunch/dinner. But please do not consume carbo for dinner.

I tried the no 1 & 2 within 2 weeks and loss about 2 kg. Then I added no. 3 in the following week then I loss 1 kg within 1 week. So, I think I did my research very well. I've combined several theories and create my own formula.

While I also did some experiments with my husband that also consumes the same product from my first diet plus doing the carbs cycle. He loss 7 kg within 1 month. He looked quite happy to have journeyed in the effort to get back in shape. It was also hard for him in the beginning but I always supported him and convinced him that he can do it.

SO WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
1.  If you know that you have a problem/health issue do not wait too long to fix it. Do the proactive action as soon as possible. It will be hard if it already turned for the worse. Please be aware that it'll also cost more money.
2. Do not rely on medicine that gives instant effect but not a solution for the long term. You need to change your lifestyle and start to do something.
3.  Make connection with friends that can support your program. They've also experienced your journey so they are a good endorser for your program.
4. It will always be hard at the beginning but do not give a drastically big shock to your body. You have to reduce your eating portion step by step. Weight loss will take time and won't give an instant effect on one night. You have to be patient, resilient and also enjoy every moment of your back in shape journey.
5. Do not think that consuming slimming products will be effective without exercising. Please keep in mind, you still need to eat even though you consume a product.  But eat responsibly in a healthy portion & do the exercises to strengthen your body and help making the outcome more efficient. Choose exercises that is suitable for you & add the time of duration each week.
6. Everyone can tell about their diet experience, but you are the only one that can determine the best method for you. I always use my gut feeling for every step that I take. That was the reason I did a combination method based on several diet experiences that I've heard from a friend. You are the one that know your body's condition, so you need to choose the convenient way for you.

And so it comes to a close, I can tell that after 4.5 months of changing my lifestyle. I have lost 13 kg and I keep maintaining my healthy lifestyle to get the outcome that I wanted.

Have I already got back in shape ?
Not yet... Because my understanding about being back in shape, is that back to my original weight before marriage. But it's still a long way to go and not to mention, ambitious to go there. The things that I need is for me to be healthy, to feel lighter, to feel happy, and to feel blessed in every activity that I do. If your body is healthy then you will be happy in doing all of your daily activities.

Now then, what am I going to do next ?
I will keep enjoying my healthy life and I'll keep writing this blog that will inspired you all.
What if I get pregnant after doing all this effort? Then I will feel blessed to get another cute, adorable baby and will certainly be excited to redo the back in shape journey all over again.

Remember, your life won't be as interesting without the problems that come with it.
